Brittany Farms has a long history of shared success with the harness racing industry, and the farm is pleased to “give back” by proudly sponsoring the upcoming North America Cup at Woodbine-Mohawk, the track’s Mohawk Million 2-Year-Old Trot, the Breeders Crown at Hoosier Park, and stakes racing at both the Meadowlands and Red Mile.
The North America Cup kicks off the 2023 classics with eliminations this Saturday (
see entries) and the $1,000,000 final to be contested on a stakes-laden card on Saturday, June 17.
If you’ve been watching racing at those tracks with current meets, you’ve likely seen our series of commercials titled “When Planning For The Future, Let The Past Be Your Guide.”
That series is a lead-in to the farm’s upcoming yearling promotions, as there’s no better way to gauge the success you might have with purchasing a farm’s yearlings than to see what its already produced on the racetrack.
In Brittany’s case, that’s plenty.
Brittany, a two-time national “Breeder of the Year,” bred, raised and sold as a yearling last year’s winner of the North America Cup, Pebble Beach, who has since embarked on a lucrative stallion career at Diamond Creek Farm of Kentucky.
The farm is the co-leading breeder of Breeders Crown Champions — tied with Hanover Shoe Farms at 30 championships apiece — and leads all of harness racing in two important money-earnings categories: leading breeder in percentage of millionaires from foals bred, and average earnings per starter — a title Brittany has held for five years in a row!
If you’re an owner or trainer, when the time comes to review yearling rosters and visit farms, we hope Brittany will be at the top of your list. For a preview of what’s on offer at the Oct. 2-6 Lexington Selected Sale,
