Britflix! Yearling Videos Now Available

August 31, 2022

The new fall shows streaming on your favorite devices just got a whole lot better, as high-definition videos of Brittany Farms’ 26 yearlings are now available for your viewing pleasure by clicking here. At your desktop, with an iPad, or with a phone, go through the yearlings sorted by gait and sex and make notes on their up-to-date pedigree pages you’ll find here.

The consignment will be offered at the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, from Monday, Oct. 3 through Thursday, Oct. 6 at the city’s Fasig-Tipton Newtown Paddocks.

All of the farm and partnership yearlings are dual-eligible, meaning they are eligible to the sire stakes program in the state or province in which their sire stands, and to the rich and revitalized Kentucky Sire Stakes.

The yearlings you’ll watch in action have been bred and raised at the same farm and in the same manner as the ones that have made Brittany the world’s no. 1 breeder of Breeders Crown Champions; no. 1 breeder in average earnings per starter; and no. 1 breeder in percentage of millionaires from foals bred.

Those are tall orders to match, but it is believed this year’s yearling crop will continue the tradition in fine fashion. Keep in mind those great horses the farm has bred have been purchased as yearlings at every price point, from near-sale toppers to prices that fall well below the sale median.

When pressed to mention a few favorites, farm manager Art Zubrod pointed out Hip 101 Bright Star, the Muscle Hill three-quarter brother to Starita, a 2 and 3-year-old stakes winner of more than $307,000.  The Walner filly Hip 72 Special Talent also catches the eye, as she’s a full sister to the year’s fastest freshman trotter, multiple stakes-winning filly Special Way 2,1:52.2.

Early on opening night another Walner filly takes center stage, as Hip 14 Pizzelle, a three-quarter sister to Espresso 2,1:57.2-’22 will sell. Later in the sale, an interesting Father Patrick colt makes his appearance. Hip 442 Veracruz is from the immediate family of this year’s Peter Haughton Memorial winner and rising star, Kilmister.

Zubrod mentioned that pacers not to be missed include Hip 147, the Bettor’s Delight filly first foal from the very fast Captaintreacherous lass Key West p,2,1:51.1. Another is Hip 324, the Captaintreacherous three-quarter brother to none other than 2022’s $1,000,000 North America Cup winner Pebble Beach.

Zubrod said he could go on… but you get the idea. The consignment is “must see.” Potential buyers are invited to visit the farm for a pre-sale inspection of the yearlings. Visitors are asked to email or call ahead to let the farm know arrival time.
