Dual Eligibility — Popular & Profitable!

June 25, 2024

The current race meet at Oak Grove in Kentucky has become a destination here in the early summer for the top horses and top stables in North America, as the rich Kentucky Sire Stakes are now underway there in full force.

Since the advent of historical racing machines (VLTs) in Kentucky — and their contribution to racetrack purses — the KYSS has expanded to include eligibility to horses who have been sired elsewhere, but foaled in Kentucky with their dams meeting residency requirements.

That has created a financial windfall to those who buy Kentucky-bred yearlings, like those bred, raised and sold by Brittany Farms.

Those horses are eligible to the sire stakes in the state or province in which their sire stands, and to the very lucrative KYSS, with one set of $400,000 finals for 2 and 3-year-olds in early fall, and two more sets of $100,000 finals in the summer and late fall.

The opportunity to make big money in the KYSS — and in the sire’s own sire stakes program — is enormous.

Yesterday (June 24) alone at Oak Grove, more than a half-million dollars in KYSS purses were offered to 2 and 3-year-olds, with $150,000 finals for 4-year-olds on tap for today.

All of the Brittany Farms yearlings that will sell this fall at the Lexington Selected Sale are dual eligible. And that means your potential for profit and success is unmatched if you buy one!
