Is she on her way to becoming the sixth Hambletonian Oaks winner bred by Brittany Farms? Only fate will tell, but Pizzelle has put herself into the conversation with her win in the $428,000 Goldsmith Maid 2YO Filly Trot at the Meadowlands.

 

Pizzelle 2,1:53.2 ($315,850), by Walner-Biscotti, was bred and raised by Brittany Farms and sold in their consignment to the 2022 Lexington Selected Sale for $65,000 to owner-trainer Chris Beaver, who partnered with Donald Robinson on the filly.

 

She won the Goldsmith Maid on the Meadowlands “Final Four” night for trainer Noel Daley in impressive fashion, coming three wide around the far turn and powering home down the middle of the lane to score in 1:54, last quarter :27.3. (Watch Race)

 

On the board in 8 of 13 2-year-old starts, she finished second to eventual Breeders Crown champion Warrawee Michelle in Lexington’s Bluegrass Stakes, then came back the following week to capture the International Stallion Stakes at the historic track in her freshman record of 1:53.2.
