New Commercial — HOF Bloodlines

February 05, 2024

As the farm’s new TV commercial points out, Brittany Farms has bred or owned 17 horses that are presently enshrined in Harness Racing’s Hall of Fame. And the most amazing thing about that is those horses have come from a farm that has only been in operation for 38 years… slightly more than a single generation!

(See complete listing of Hall of Fame horses below)

Despite the farm closing at the end of this year, it’s important to note that its impact on the Standardbred breed is far from over. From champion racehorses and breed-shaping sires like Artsplace, to foundation mares like Three Diamonds and American Jewel, to modern-day stars like Father Patrick,  many of the sport’s champions for years to come will carry pedigrees born at Brittany Farms.

In addition to its influence upon the Hall of Fame, Brittany is the second-leading all-time breeder of Breeders Crown champions (with 30, second only to Hanover Shoe Farms); far and away the leading breeder in percentage of million dollar winners from foals bred (with 47 and counting); and has ranked no. 1 in average earnings per starter five of the last six years.

It’s safe to say that no other Standardbred farm has produced so much in so little time.

Brittany’s final crop of yearlings will be sold at the Lexington Selected Sale this October. And who knows… maybe the best are yet to come!
