Perfect Sting took his second Breeders Crown triumph Saturday and in so doing, made his breeder Brittany Farms the all-time leading breeder of Breeders Crown champions, with 28 now to its credit.
Perfect Sting p,2,1:49.2; 3,1:48.1, among the
43 millionaires bred by Brittany, increased his 2 and 3-year-old earnings to a whopping $1,808,147 with his impressive “It all comes down to the Breeders Crown” victory.
Leaving alertly as always to make the lead, the speedy colt then sat a patient 2-hole trip before tipping in the stretch and closing powerfully for a 1:49.4 win that was never in doubt. His own last quarter of :25.4 belied the ease in which it was attained. (

The imposing, dark bay colt was undefeated as a 2-year-old and won the freshman Breeders Crown to cap an undefeated season that earned him the Dan Patch award as “2-Year-Old Pacing Colt of the Year.”
A look at his complete 3-year-old season — in which he was 15 times first or second in 16 starts racing against the best in open stakes — makes him a likely choice to become a repeat Dan Patch Champion.
Perfect Sting’s racing career is a culmination of “breeding the best to the best.” His sire Always B Miki p,1:46 ($2,715,368) is the fastest pacer ever and his dam, Shebestingin p,3,1:47 ($759,522) is the fastest 3-year-old pacing filly ever.
Brittany Farms and Marty Granoff’s Val D’Or Farms, partners on Perfect Sting, extend their congratulations to the great colt’s trainer Joe Holloway and driver David Miller — both Hall Of Famers — and to caretaker Diane Lewis.
